Description: Bozeman bladesmith Maverik Murdock is an up-and-coming maker to watch. This young bladesmith's attention to detail and devotion to the craft is clearly evident in his work. Murdock's knives are inspired by faith and family. His maker's mark shows his initials surrounding a stylized person in prayer.
This large kukri-influenced fighter is hand forged W2 carbon steel with a honyaki clay zone heat treatment. Maverick borrowed this heat treatment technique from the world of Japanese swords. Prior to quenching, the spine is coated in clay. The result is a differential hardness that creates a more resilient spine with a keen, long lasting cutting edge. Because this knife is made from carbon steel, we recommend using camellia oil to avoid rust. An antiqued finish adds an heirloom feel to the blade. The spine is fileworked and offers great thumb purchase.
The handle is sculpted from natural Micarta and provides excellent grip. The 416 stainless steel guard and finial are 416 stainless steel and features Maverick's antique finish. Paracord could be added if extra retention is desired.
Includes a tooled custom leather sheath with a belt loop and removable leg carry attachment.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
