Description: Bozeman bladesmith Maverik Murdock is an up-and-coming maker to watch. This young bladesmith's attention to detail and devotion to the craft is clearly evident in his work. Murdock's knives are inspired by faith and family. His maker's mark shows his initials surrounding a stylized person in prayer. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by all appearances, Maverik could have made it yesterday.
The drop point blade is forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel. Many knifemakers (including the likes of Bill Burke, Ed Fowler, Bob Kramer, and more) and knife users consider 52100 to be among the best, if not the best steel used in modern knifemaking. 52100 takes a super-sharp, long lasting edge. It has tremendous resilience and strength. The flats are forge textured and the grinds feature a hand rubbed satin finish. Because this knife is made from carbon steel, we recommend using camellia oil to avoid rust.
The handle is crosscut natural Micarta sculpted to provide a comfortable grip. Fluted notches on the top and bottom provide additional traction on the handle. The S-guard is made from case hardened and blackened mild steel.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand tooled leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
