Description: Arno Bernard Sr. is a maker from South Africa and has been making knives for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) for over 20 years. Living in South Africa has allowed him the luxury of using many different exotic handle materials -- some even collected himself.
The clip point blade is made from pool and eye pattern damascus forged from carbon steels. A hollow grind and slight recurve at the back edge will assist with cutting tasks such as slicing rope. The 4-1/4 in. blade is just long enough to get most any chore done around the camp site, yet short enough for skinning and meat processing tasks.
Spalted maple handle scales are secured to the full tang using torx screws. The dramatic wood has an elegant swirling figure with darker spalting lines. By stabilizing the wood, Bernard combines a dramatic appearance with durability. This sturdy knife is comfortable to hold and has excellent balance.
To keep the knife close at hand, a cape buffalo pouch style leather sheath is included.
