Description: Arno Bernard Sr. is a maker from South Africa and has been making knives for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) for over 20 years. Living in South Africa has allowed him the luxury of using many different exotic handle materials -- some even collected himself.
This Utility/Hunter is made from Bohler N690 with a meticulously mirror polished blade. N690 is created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground to a thin high performance edge. The spine is rounded for a comfortable grip.
The handle is made from stabilized kudu horn set to the tang using five stainless steel pins. The material is taken from the inside of the kudu horn and has been highly polished -- combining a dramatic appearance with durability. The knife is very lightweight and comfortable to hold, making it perfect for a daily carry fixed blade.
A cape buffalo hide leather sheath helps to keep this knife close at hand.
Excellent work throughout!
