Description: Journeyman Smith Shawn Ellis lives in the Ozarks -- an area well known for hunting and fishing. After searching for a knife that would perform well -- holding a keen, long lasting edge -- Sean realized that he had to learn how to forge and create his own knives.
Shawn began this clip point hunter by forging the blade closely to shape. The intricate feather pattern damascus was forged from 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels. The central 'quill' starts in the integral bolster and the pattern travels out into the captivating blade. The effect is exceptional and shows Shawn's tremendous skill at the forge.
The stag handle has a comfortable texture that provides a secure grip. It is surrounded by the integral bolster and a wrought iron butt cap.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout - with a perfect sense of balance.
