Description: This exceptional Back Country Hunter shows off Gary Rodewald's work at its best!
The blade was forged closely to shape from 52100 carbon steel. The flats and ricasso are forge finished, while the grinds are meticulously hand satin finished. Many makers and knife users feel that 52100 carbon steel is among the highest performing steels used to make knives today.
The handle is formed from a single piece of American walnut. The oil rubbed finish lends an heirloom quality. The tightly curled wood is absolutely beautiful. Contouring on the handle provides a sure, comfortable grip.
The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath made by Gordon Kenley.
Though this knife will feel at home in most any collection, it will also make an exceptional knife when used out in the field. Whether used as a camp knife to chop wood or to butcher game, this Rodewald hunter will be a terrific performer.
