Description: Mastersmith Daniel Winkler created the Winkler II line in 2010. It is an alternate approach to an established tradition. Winkler Knives II is the result of processes Daniel Winkler developed over the past few years in order to provide axes and knives to teams within United States Army Special Operations and US Naval Special Warfare. Each piece in this collection bears the Winkler Knives II touchmark.
The Winkler/Sayoc RnD Bontoc is a collaboration between Master Bladesmith Daniel Winkler and Trainer Rafael Kayanan. The Bontoc Knife is a reflection of Rafael's Filipino ancestry and martial arts training, as well as his keen understanding of edged tools and their use. It is designed for a variety of purposes, from woodcarving, ritual practice, hunting, building shelter, farming and warfare. It is a great workhorse tool for use on any adventure out in the wild.
Maples scales are set on a full tang for strength and durability. Maple has proven to be a favorite among our servicemen in the Middle East. Tribal markings on the maple are both visually appealing and assist in a sure, comfortable grip.
The versatile Kydex sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally for right- or left-hand draw with simple adjustments.
