Description: Brian Tighe produces unique, functional and visually appealing knives of the highest quality. His blades are the product of 25 years of experience in metallurgy artistry and tactical expertise.
This Tighe Rade features a four inch blade made from RWL-34 powdered metallurgical stainless steel. RWL-34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by ERASTEEL in Söderfors, Sweden. Because it is made from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel much higher strength and resistance to cracks and chips. The blade was tumbled then polished in the grinds and satin finished on the flats.
The carbon fiber handle keeps the knife extremely light -- weighing in at just 3.4 oz. This unique carbon fiber has shredded dollar bills mixed into the carbon fiber weave. The handle is nicely contoured to fit perfectly in hand while providing a rock solid grip. A hole has been drilled in the rear in case a lanyard is wanted.
The nightmare grind tanto blade is perfectly centered and the action is incredibly smooth. The blade can be deployed easily using the ambidextrous flipper or the dual thumbstuds. A button lock makes closing the blade a breeze! A carbon fiber pocket clip mounted for right-handed tip-up carry.
Excellent work throughout!
