Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kiku Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. His father runs a small workshop in Seki, grinding blades for production knife makers. Kiku joined his father's business at the age of 15 and learned grinding technique from his father. Kiku's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
Seiran is a massive blade that wants to swing through the air. It is similar to his Machete, but with a more angled handle. The 9-1/4 inch blade features Kiku's signature Hamaguri-ba (convex) grind. The weight favors the blade to give this piece incredible cutting power and swing. The spine has a generous amount of jimping to allow the user to really thumb-up on the blade for tasks that require a bit more precision. The stacked G10 handle is formed from alternating layers of black, green, and tan. The Kiku Seiran represents Kiku's willingness to bring his impressive style to any design worthy of extreme field use. This versatile edged-tool is the perfect piece to let your inner warrior run free no matter where your journey takes you.
