Description: This Todd Begg Glimpse holds up the reputation for excellence that Todd has established. Each of Todd's custom handmade knives truly has a soul of its own.
Todd has created several generations of the Glimpse to arrive at the Glimpse 5.0. The modified wharncliffe blade is formed from Grosse Rosen stainless damascus by Damasteel, Sweden. One of the main components of Grosse Rosen is RWL34 stainless steel, which is very well known for its superb edge retention. The damascus has beautiful definition. Todd's signature pierced fluting travels along the center of the flats on each side of the blade and masterfully ties together the circular geometry of the Damasteel pattern. Utilizing a hollow grind ensures an easy to sharpen, long lasting edge.
The blade is opened by utilizing a flipper mechanism and ball bearing pivot for perfectly silky-smooth action. A depression of the flipper pops open the perfectly centered blade from any position. The ball bearing pivot provides a smooth, dependable and solid action.
This Glimpse features an all-titanium frame that is meticulously mirror polished on the outside and fully detailed with cracked ice on the interior. Sheep horn inlays marry traditional materials with the futuristic for a fascinating and truly unique combination. When wet, sheep horn does not become slippery, and it is amazingly durable -- a perfect choice for a knife handle.
Culminating the piece is a two-tone cracked ice finish on the backbar and pocket clip. A multi-stage anodization process produces blue and gold tones on the ridged backbar along with the front and sides of the clip. The titanium pocket clip makes it easy to keep the knife close at hand and is set for tip-up carry. The frame lock features a unique two-piece construction. Titanium construction throughout keeps this knife light and fast despite its significant size.
This exceptional knife took approximately 150 hours of labor to complete and the results are well worth the effort!
