Description: South African knifemaker André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder. This compact knife is a perfect daily carry folder -- small enough to not notice it is there until you need it.
The clip point N690 stainless steel blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. Jimping on the thumb ramp ensures a secure grip. The blade is perfectly centered and silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand. When combined with the IKBS ball bearing system, the action is exceptional! The Ikoma Korth Bearing System (IKBS) pivot system was originally designed to fit balisong knives and uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with virtually no blade play.
Stainless steel bolsters are hand textured with a floral vine pattern, providing a dramatic, secure thumb rest. Differentially anodized, hand fileworked titanium liners surround a stainless steel back spacer. The scales are presentation grade Arizona desert ironwood. A pierced stainless steel pocket clip is mounted for tip up carry. Exceptional work throughout.
