Description: Pennsylvanian knifemaker Bud Nealy is well known for making phenomenal daily carry knives and this Pesh-Kabz is an exemplary piece. Bud's knives are favorites among knife users because of their slim profile and easy concealability. This knife has been in a private collection. It is serial #4732, which suggests it was made in 2007. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances could have been made yesterday.
The Pesh-Kabz is a pattern that has put Bud Nealy on the map. It was dubbed “The Travel Knife” by Steve Dick of Tactical Knives Magazine in an article about travelers carrying knives. Bud adapted the design from an ancient Persian knife. Like the Aikuchi, this knife has a strong spine which goes all the way to the reinforced point. It also has a dropped edge which ensures maximum safety for the hand as well as offering extra utility.
Nealy began this dress Pesh Kabz with a billet of Devin Thomas' spirograph pattern damascus. The spirograph pattern is truly revolutionary in that it has overlapping layers of steel, instead of just parallel damascus lines. Bud has enhanced the aesthetics of the blade by acid etching the damascus therein creating a raised texture.
Carbon fiber scales are set on the full tang by three elegant mosaic pins. The combination of the damascus blade, carbon fiber and mosaic pins culminates in a piece that is truly remarkable -- one that is both visually stunning and maintains exceptional performance capability.
Nice fit and finish throughout!
