Description: Mastersmith Doug Noren is well known for his devotion to the work of the late William Scagel. More so than nearly any other maker, William Scagel's knives have captured the imagination of American knife collectors, with their unique shape and appearance. Doug's knives are true to the style with some of the best fit and finish found anywhere.
This bird and trout is very true to Scagel's design from the carbon steel upswept blade to the leather handle with stacked spacers. Doug chose to follow the color themes used by Scagel, combining leather with steel, red and black fiber spacers. The front guard and pin are formed from bronze. The remainder of the handle is formed from ancient walrus ivory. The resulting handle is classically stylish and extremely comfortable. The front of the bronze guard has been beveled and fits perfectly to the 1084 blade. A hand satin finish lends an heirloom quality. The fit and finish throughout is exceptional.
