Description: Tim Robertson began making knives in 2004 after being told he couldn’t build a slipjoint, a challenge that sparked his passion for traditional folder construction. Initially self-taught, he joined the broader knife community only a few years ago at the recommendation of a fellow knifemaker. He has since been guided by many makers he now calls friends. Specializing in traditional slipjoints and backlocks with natural handle materials, he is a proud member of the South Texas Slipjoint Cartel.
This knife is based on the Tom Ploppert’s F1 Pro Lockback. Tim created the knife at 80% scale for a more carry-friendly model.
The drop point blade is CPM-154 stainless steel with a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. Jimping along the spine provides a positive thumb purchase. Tim's touchmark is on the ricasso of the left side of the blade.
The blade is well centered and has silky-smooth action. The blade locks up firmly with a strong backlock.
Handle scales are premium amber stag, secured to the stainless steel frame using hand domed pins. A stainless steel escutcheon is inlaid into the left side of the handle. The stainless steel bolsters are integral to the liners with the insides being mill-relieved for smooth action. A lanyard can be added to the back of the handle for extra retention.
A branded zipper case is included to protect the knife during storage.
Excellent work throughout!
