Description: Franck Souville is a knifemaker and blacksmith from Montgesoye, France. He creates forged fixed blades as well as slipjoints and friction folders both in modern and classic styles. This Little Bad model is a perfect example of a classic slip joint style folder with exceptional fit and finish.
The 3 inch clip point blade is hand ground RWL-34 stainless steel. RWL-34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by Damasteel in Söderfors, Sweden. Because it is manufactured from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel much higher strength and durability while maintaining very high wear resistance. A hand rubbed satin finish adds an heirloom quality to the blade.
The blade can be easily opened using the oversized nail nick. The action is smooth and the blade snaps firmly into place. The stronger resistance on the spring ensures the knife is less likely to close by accident during use. Souville's touchmark is on the left ricasso.
Natural Micarta handle scales are hand contoured to provide a comfortable grip. The handle is fluted on both sides to give the appearance of bolsters. A lanyard can be added at the rear using the included stainless steel tube for extra retention.
Excellent work throughout!
