Description: Jason Clark is a part time, sole authorship knifemaker from O'Brien, Florida. Jason has been employed full time as a Florida Law Enforcement Officer since 1997 and knows what it takes to make a high functioning knife that is meant to be used. He even offers lifetime free sharpening for any knife he has made!
The upswept blade is high performing CPM-154 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. This US-made powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp. Jason's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The blade is perfectly centered with smooth action. It uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
Handle scales are Arizona desert ironwood. Desert ironwood (Olneya tesota) is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is extremely dense and durable. In fact, it is so dense, that if a piece is dropped in water it will sink! The scales are nicely dovetailed to heat colored zirconium bolsters. A red fiber liner set between will help the natural wood adjust to humidity and temperature changes. Stonewash titanium liners surround a satin finished stainless steel backbar. The inside of the backbar is engraved with the IKBS logo and CPM154/60RC along with Clark Custom Knives, O'Brien, FL. The deep carry titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
A leather pocket slip made by Jason's wife is included to protect the knife.
Excellent work throughout!
