Description: This Drop Point Hunter was made by Boise, ID knifemaker Mike Okamura. This knife has been in a knifemaker's private collection. It is in new condition and by all appearances Mike could have made it yesterday. Mike makes all his knives by hand using files and hand drills, sandpaper and lots of elbow grease.
The blade is hand ground D2 tool steel, ensuring superior strength and durability. It is hollow ground for a thin, high performance edge. The grinds are nicely balanced from side to side.
Arizona desert ironwood Olneya tesota) handle scales are set on a full tang for strength and durability. Ironwood is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is among the most desirable of exotic woods used for knives. The handle is hand contoured for a secure, comfortable grip. Red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched, hand tooled leather sheath, also made by Okamura.
Exceptional work throughout!
