Description: Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. In 1978, they settled in Golden, Colorado, and initially, the company focused on selling their first product: the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker™ which was primarily sold at fairs and trade shows around the country. Since then, Spyderco has steadily grown to become one of the leaders in the cutlery industry. In addition to a worldwide distribution network and manufacturing resources in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China, their innovations have earned them an impressive portfolio of patents, trademarks, and industry awards.
The Spyderco Manix 2 (C101GPCBL2) is a full-sized folding knife that uses Spyderco's Ball Bearing lock system. This allows the Manix to be fully ambidextrous with no modifications needed! The pocket clip can be moved for either left or right side, tip-up carry. Cobalt blue G-10 scales sit on top of full steel liners, giving the knife strength and a pleasing weight in the hand. Jimping along the spine and in the recessed choil make the knife comfortable to hold in a variety of positions. An oversized lanyard tube at the back of the knife allows for a multitude of attachment options.
The blade is satin finished CPM-SPY27 stainless steel. This steel was developed by Spyderco and produced by Crucible Industries, having a very similar chemical composition to the tried-and-true VG-10. Additional cobalt, nitrogen, niobium and vanadium give the steel increased toughness and wear resistance, and the particle metallurgy process amplifies these qualities by managing grain size and providing uniform chemical distribution. The full flat grind gives the blade a remarkably sharp edge, perfect for slicing tasks.
Made in USA.
