Description: We were pleased to meet Johan van der Walt at the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa Knife Show. Johan is from Johannesburg, South Africa and is creating some exceptional handmade folding knives. He builds working folders intended for use, though they would feel right at home in any knife collection.
The blade on this JB1 Linerlock Flipper is hand ground RWL-34 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. RWL-34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by Damasteel in Sweden. Because it is manufactured from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel much higher strength and durability while maintaining very high wear resistance.
Handle scales are burgundy Richlite, set on bead blasted titanium liners. The liners surround a black G-10 backbar keeping the knife light, but strong. A polished, raised pivot collar surrounds the bead blasted torx pivot. A 3D machined titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
Includes a metal storage case with a certificate of authenticity laser engraved into the lid.
Excellent work throughout!
