Description: The models offered by Randall Knives have been developed over a period of 80 years from personal experience, extensive research and the study of hundreds of designs submitted by individuals around the world requesting custom-made knives. Each model has been thoroughly field-tested and has proven to be properly shaped and designed for its particular use. Randall knives are 100% handmade and no two are exactly alike. This knife has been kept in a private collection. The knife is in new condition and by all appearances it could have been made yesterday. The sheath is in near-mint condition, with some slight marking from the knife being inserted into the sheath.
The Model 5 is a straight-bladed knife preferred by many for all-around camp and trail use. It is also ideal for yachtsmen and sailors for general boating purposes. Among the users of this model was Bradford Angier, famed wilderness expert and author, whose special adaptation is the nickel silver hilt, black Micarta handle, wrist thong, and compass. The late Ross Allen, an internationally known authority on reptiles, also carried a Model #5.
The clip point blade is forged 440B stainless steel and features a deep hollow grind. The blade is heat treated to Hrc 55-56, ensuring a resilient, durable edge. A large ricasso allows you to choke up on the blade for more delicate skinning and cutting tasks. The left side of the blade features the Randall Knives logo: "Randall Knives - Orlando, FL". An S in the mark signifies this is a stainless steel blade. The spine is notched for a secure thumb purchase.
The black Micarta handle is carved with finger grooves to provide a non-slip grip. The contoured handle is very comfortable in hand. A polished brass guard prevents your hand from sliding over the blade. Red, white, and blue spacers finish the handle. A green paracord lanyard is included to provide extra retention in hand.
To keep the knife close, a brown leather sheath with the original field sharpening stone is included.
This is a knife you will definitely want on your next adventure!
