Description: Mastersmith Scott Gallagher makes an exceptional knife. I was very excited when Mastersmith Bill Burke introduced me to Scott at the 2019 Blade Show in Atlanta. Over the years, his work has continued to develop. Scott achieved the coveted Master Smith title with the American Blade Society in April of 2021. Gallagher's attention to detail is immediately visible in his exquisite knives.
The blade is hand forged 80CrV2 carbon steel. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality.
The handle is Arizona desert ironwood. Desert ironwood (Olneya tesota) is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is among the most desirable of exotic woods used for knives. This dense wood is both dramatic and has tremendous stability. The handle is sculpted to provide a comfortable, non-slip grip.. The handle is fit to a satin finished 416 stainless steel guard with a coined central spacer.
To keep the knife close at hand, a pouch style leather custom sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
