Description: Tinus Stone is a custom knifemaker from Mossel Bay on the Western Cape of South Africa. He mainly makes slipjoints and is known for his clean lines and great fit & finish
The blade on this Barlow Slipjoint Folder is hand ground N690 stainless steel. Bohler N690 ensures a keen, long lasting edge with good resistance to chipping. It is a great choice for high performance use knives. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality to Tinus' work. The straight cutting edge provides detail-oriented slicing.
South African camelthorn wood (Vachellia eriolob) handle scales are set on stainless steel liners. African blackwood makes a high contrast 'bolster'. Red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
This folder is nicely timed with a firm half-stop. The action throughout is smooth and consistent.
The knife is accompanied by a leather slip pocket pouch for easy carry.
Exceptional work throughout!
