Description: Bernie Garland is a knifemaker from the United Kingdom. A one-time carpenter and joiner, Bernie is almost obsessive about the quality of his hand-made knives. Each knife is individually crafted using no jigs, patterns, or templates. He intends his knives to be used for hard tasks, from bushcrafting to hunting. Regrettably Bernie had a stroke in October of 2019. While he remains healthy, he is no longer able to create knives. This Bushcrafter was kept in a private collection since it was made. It appears to be in new condition and Garland could have made it yesterday!
The 3.8 inch blade is O1 carbon steel, ensuring maximum chip resistance and breakage resistance. The blade features a Scandi grind and a razor sharp edge. The flats are hand rubbed satin finished and the grinds are belt satin finished. The spine is nicely rounded for comfort.
Dyed and stabilized maple burl handle scales are secured to the full tang using two brass hidden bolt rivets and a lanyard tube. White fiber liners help the handle adjust to humidity and temperature changes while out in the field.
To keep the knife close at hand, a pouch style leather sheath is included.
Nice work throughout!
