Description: ABS Journeyman Smith Peter Bromley has been making knives part-time for over twenty-five years. Peter prides himself on sole authorship. He forges, heat treats, and does all the leather work using many machines he has built himself. He creates knives that are often reminiscent of a time long ago. This dirk was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in new condition and by all appearances, Peter could have made it yesterday!
The blade is hand forged from 5160 carbon steel, ensuring excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The grinds are symmetrical from side to side with a fuller running down the center of the blade. Peter's maker mark is on the ricasso.
The coffin handle has rosewood scales set with brass pins. The warm toned wood nicely complements a copper spacer. A brass guard finishes the handle.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand stitched leather custom sheath made by Peter is included.
Nice work throughout!
