Description: Don Lozier first entered the knife community in 1991. He became a voting member of the Knifemakers' Guild in 1996. Don makes fixed blade knives of his own design. This drop point hunter was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by all appearances, Don could have made it yesterday!
The drop point blade is ATS-34 stainless steel and features a hand rubbed satin finish on the flats and a mirror polish in the bevels. ATS-34 stainless steel is high in carbon and chromium giving excellent chip resistant, edge holding, and corrosion resistance. The spine is nicely fileworked for excellent thumb purchase. Don's mark is on the ricasso of the left side of the blade.
Stabilized curly maple scales are set on the full tang using mosaic pins. The curly maple selected is exceptional with tight curls and high chatoyancy. The scales are dovetailed to polished stainless steel bolsters. The distal tapered tang provides perfect balance in hand.
To keep the knife close at hand, a pouch style tooled leather custom sheath is included.
