Description: Gary Martindale of Spanaway, Washington has been making knives since 2007. He learned the ins and outs of knifemaking from renown knifemaker Todd Begg. Todd taught him all aspects of knife making, from grinding, to business, and everything in between. Todd introduced Gary to knifemaker Thad Buchanan who taught him how to make Loveless style knives. Gary's fit and finish is excellent. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in new condition and by all appearances, Gary could have made it yesterday!
The drop point blade is CPM-154 stainless steel with a meticulous mirror polish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. Gary's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
The handle is dyed and stabilized maple burl, secure to a full tang using Loveless style rivets. The distal tapered full tang provides perfect balance. Red fiber liners will help the natural wood adjust to humidity and temperature changes. A lanyard can be added to the rear of the knife for extra retention. The handle is perfectly fit to a polished stainless steel guard.
To keep the knife close at hand, a tooled pouch style leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
