Description: Toor Knives was founded by Connor Toor in San Diego, California. Connor was in the Marine Corps at the time and was frustrated seeing teammates in the Marine Corps having to rely on mass-produced knives that were unfit for mission-specific tasks. By pooling the experience of his teammates and his Army Ranger brother Cameron Toor, Toor knives was able to create a family of blades that fit the needs of airborne operations, diving, close-quarters battle, law enforcement, scouting, and patrolling-related missions. Toor Knives are tough, yet well balanced and easy to carry. Plus, they guaranty their knives for life from any manufacturing defects or issues!
The Vellum Skinner is an updated version of the (now retired) Toor Knives Skinner. Having the right blade in-hand when field dressing meat is critical for success, and Vellum’s curved belly and ergonomic grip will provide peace of mind that your preparation and hard work has paid off.
At just 3.4 oz, this Outdoor Series knife won’t take up much space on your gear or in your pack and is light enough to comfortably carry on the game trail. Vellum is made from CPM-154 steel, which allows for greater edge retention and is also user-friendly for field sharpening.
Vellum’s antler textured ebony handle fills the need for dexterity but adds a timeless look that can’t be ignored. Toor secured the resilient ebony from their neighbors in San Diego, Taylor Guitars. Handle scales are individually finished by hand to ensure the wood will last a lifetime. Each piece of ebony is unique, meaning each one of these blades has the potential to be different and stand alone.
Vellum includes a black FlexTech Kydex sheath, which is compatible with all of Toor's current mount options. The sheath requires about 6 lbs. of draw which means it will not accidently fall out of the sheath -- but it is still very easy to draw when needed. Multiple friction offsets prevent the blade from rattling even after many sharpenings. Tension can be adjusted using the screw at the top seam of the sheath. Toor Knives' sheath molding and machining is one of the best in the industry!
Made in the USA.
