Description: Frank Edwards began his journey into knifemaking in 2009 and started forging in 2011. He joined the American Bladesmith Society in 2017 and recently completed a folder class taught by Mastersmiths Bill Burke and Rick Dunkerley. Frank has spent some time working alongside Mastersmith Burke in his workshop since the class, which has taken his work to a completely new level!
The spearpoint blade is hand forged SG2 san mai damascus. A central bar of Takefu SG2 powdered metallurgical stainless steel is surrounded by alternating layers of stainless steel and nickel. At Hrc 63-64, this folder has among the best edge holding of any Edwards knife ever made -- yet it is stainless steel. The resulting damascus is high contrast and immediately captivating. The blade rotates on Teflon washers and has silky smooth action. It is perfectly centered and can be easily deployed using the right-handed nail nick.
At just 1.6oz, carbon fiber handle scales keep this high performance EDC light, yet sturdy. 1084 carbon steel liners are heat blued and hand fileworked. Screws throughout are also hand fileworked. The backbar is hand engraved in a running wheat pattern.
Excellent work throughout!
