Description: Frank Edwards began his journey into knifemaking in 2009 and started forging in 2011. He joined the American Bladesmith Society in 2017 and has taken classes from some of the greats in the custom knife world including mastersmiths Bill Burke and Rick Dunkerley. In a relatively short time, Frank is creating world class folders that rival those made by his teachers.
The intricate feather pattern damascus blade was hand forged from 1080 and 15n20 carbon steels. The high contrast pattern is captivating and will have excellent edge retention. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil both the blade and stabilized and mammoth ivory handle scales. The blade rotates on Teflon washers and has silky-smooth action. It is perfectly centered and can be easily deployed using the inobtrusive front flipper tab.
Presentation grade blue/green mammoth ivory bark handle scales are dovetailed to feather pattern damascus bolsters, ensuring a perfect fit. The deep colors in this rare mammoth ivory developed across thousands of years as minerals travelled into the buried ivory. Hand fileworked, polished and nitre blued steel liners surround the backbar. The bolsters are meticulously inlaid with a 24k gold frame, bringing in warm tones. The backbar is hand engraved in a running wheat pattern by Frank. The combination of the engraving and inlay is particularly dramatic. Screws throughout are hand fileworked.
This is a magnificent knife!
