Description: Journeyman Smith Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of knifemaking talent in his country. Bruce has worked alongside some of the most prominent knifemakers in the world including Mastersmith Bill Burke. Bruce's attention to detail and fine design aesthetic is clearly apparent in this elegant and high performing slipjoint folder.
The clip point blade is forged from Bruce's own feather pattern damascus, combining 1084 and 15n20 carbon steels. The complex, high contrast pattern is extremely engaging and shows lots of movement in the steel.
The blade is perfectly centered and has smooth, consistent action with a firm half stop. It can be easily opened using the nail nick.
Handle scales are amber jigged bone secured to stainless steel liners using recessed hand domed pins. The left side features stainless steel escutcheon. The stainless steel liners are fileworked by hand and are integral to the fluted bolsters for exceptional strength and durability.
Exceptional work throughout!
