Description: Captain Bunshichi Koyama is a tremendously creative knifemaker from Japan. His designs are truly innovative -- often combining ancient and modern materials into whimsical, unique creations.
This folder features a 2.7" solid VG-10 stainless steel blade. VG-10 provides ultra-high performance with stain resistance. The blade is easily opened using the right handed thumb stud. It is well centered with consistent action.
Handle scales are set on anodized titanium liners. The scales combine bronze bolsters with mother of pearl spacers and stabilized antique yuzen silk. Yuzen is a traditional technique used to hand dye cloth with patterns. The technique was developed during the Edo period and utilizes a resist made from rice starch. The titanium liners surround a fileworked titanium backspacer.
Excellent work throughout!
