Description: Mastersmith Bill Burke creates knives that are as high performance as a knife can get. Among Burke's accomplishments is the wide range of knives that he creates. Whether making a chef's knife, a hunter, or a folder, his work is truly exceptional.
The hand ground blade is premium CPM-154 stainless steel that is heat treated to Hrc 60-61 for optimal edge retention and durability. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! The blade is perfectly centered with smooth, consistent action and a firm half stop. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality to this knife.
Handle scales are presentation grade mammoth ivory set to liners using hand domed stainless pins. Colors in the ancient ivory develop as minerals moved into the ivory from surrounding soils while being buried across thousands of years. The scales are perfectly fit to 416 stainless steel bolsters. The milled bolsters are integral to the liners. The bolsters are elegantly engraved. The handle measures in at 4.45 inches when closed.
Excellent work throughout!
