Description: I was tremendously pleased to meet bladesmith Dave Skinner at the 2019 Guild Show of Southern Africa. Dave brings a refined eye and tremendous skill at the forge to his knives. Over the last few years, his work has continued to develop a level of refinement that is found in very few knifemakers.
The damascus for this blade was forged by Willie Kilian, combining SK5 carbon steel and nickel. The 7 inch length is perfect for a variety of tasks around the camp site. From chopping up kindling to preparing dinner at the camp site, this utility knife has you covered! Because this knife is made from carbon steel, we recommend using camellia oil to oil the blade and natural wood handle.
Hand contoured stabilized ash wood provides a comfortable grip. The swell at the bottom of the handle locks in a solid, non-slip grip. Alternating stainless steel and fiber spacers help the natural wood adjust to humidity and temperature changes. The handle is finished with a bead blasted stainless steel guard.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand tooled leather sheath made by Dave is included.
Excellent work throughout!
