Description: I was tremendously pleased to meet bladesmith Dave Skinner at the 2019 Guild Show of Southern Africa. Dave brings a refined eye and tremendous skill at the forge to his knives. Over the last few years, his work has continued to develop and clearly shows a skillset that is found in very few knifemakers. This Hunter is an excellent example of Dave's work.
The blade combines a 1080 and15N20 carbon steels. Dave's touchmark is on the left side of the blade. Because the blade is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to protect the blade and wood handle.
The handle is a premium section stabilized golden amboyna burl, secured to the tang using a hand domed pin. The swirling figure of the wood is stunning! The handle is sculpted to provide a comfortable, non-slip grip. A stippled brass guard is surrounded by hot blued mild steel spacers.
To keep the knife close at hand, a pouch style tooled leather custom sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
