Description: Knives coming from W.D. Pease have a class all of their own. This exquisite backlock folder has been in a private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The blade is hand ground CPM154 stainless steel, ensuring a keen, long lasting edge. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! It is hollow ground for easy maintenance. The blade is easily opened using the right handed nail nick closed using the back lock. Excellent action with a perfectly centered blade and secure lockup.
The faceted bolsters are nickel silver. They are meticulously engraved in floral scroll with running wheat along the bevels. The engraving was done by Sam Alfano. Sam began engraving in the early 70's In 1982, he was hired by New Orleans Arms Co owner Stanley Diefenthal, to engrave guns full time. In 1984, Alfano traveled to Brescia Italy to learn techniques of bulino engraving from Firmo Fracassi. Sam is a certified Master Engraver by the Firearms Engravers Guild of America and is an engraving instructor for GRS. His work is meticulous. Scales sheep horn. By leaving the natural outer texture of the sheep horn, Pease ensures a secure grip, even when wet.
Tremendous work throughout!
