Description: The models offered by Randall Knives have been developed over a period of 80 years from personal experience, extensive research and the study of hundreds of designs submitted by individuals around the world requesting custom-made knives. Each model has been thoroughly field-tested and has proven to be properly shaped and designed for its particular use. Randall knives are 100% hand made and no two are exactly alike. This knife has been kept in a private collection since it was made in the late 90's. By all appearances, this knife could have just been made by Randall Knives.
The Triathelete was designed for those that needed a lightweight, but heavy duty, hard-use knife. Originally designed for athletes planning a marathon in Alaska, the Triathlete model has found itself being used by runners, bikers, hikers, or even those just needing a back up knife that won't weigh you down.
The satin finished 3" drop point blade is forged 440B stainless steel. It was heat treated to Hrc 55-56, ensuring a resilient, durable edge. The left side of the blade features the Randall Knives logo: "Randall Knives - Orlando, FL". An S in the mark signifies this is a stainless steel blade. The spine of the blade is notched for a secure thumb purchase.
The handle is skeletonized to reduce weight. An additional hole at the back of the handle allows for adding a lanyard for extra retention.
