Description: Jimmy Lile, a full-time knifemaker since 1970, was known as "Gentleman Lile" or "The Arkansas Knifemaker". Jimmy became very well known for producing the knives for the original Rambo First Blood and First Blood II movies. Jimmy also made knives for the likes of Presidents Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Bill Clinton. Unfortunately Lile passed away in 1991 from a heart attack during the peak of his career. His knives are hard to come by these days and sought after by avid knife collectors throughout the world. This Loveless style chute knife is particularly rare and an excellent example of Jimmy's clean work. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and has never been carried or used to cut. Note that this is not a Lile 'dot' knife, but is instead a handmade knife by Jimmy Lile.
The blade is D2 semi-stainless steel. D2 is known for its ability to hold an exceptional edge while requiring just a little bit of additional care -- to prevent rusting, it is important to dry the blade after use.
The handle is Dymondwood secured to a distal tapered full tang. The sculpted handle is exceptionally comfortable. A brass lanyard hole allows a lanyard to be added to the rear of the knife. The handle is finished with a satin finished brass guard.
This is a rare find that can be the center of a collection or a faithful companion out in the field.
