Description: This Willem Steenkamp custom Zulu Slip Joint is a fantastic utility folder. The spear point blade and ergonomic handle are perfectly designed and implemented.
Willem was accepted as a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) in May of 2007. His attention to detail is clearly evident in his knives.
The 2-3/4 inch spear point blade is hand ground from Bohler B-Cut stainless steel hardened to 59-60Hrc. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. This stainless steel is resilient and chip resistent. A hollow ground blade makes for an easy to maintain edge. The blade is well centered with a firm half stop -- easily opened with the right handed thumb nick.
Handle scales are made from crosscut natural Micarta. A carbon fiber escutcheon, matching the bolsters, is meticulously inlaid into the left scale.
Exceptional work throughout!
