Description: This exceptional folder was made by Canadian knifemaker Brian Tighe. It has been in a collection and has been meticulously cared for. By all appearances, it could have been yesterday -- though it likely dates back to approximately 1999 or 2000. This folder shows all the skill and expertise that has made Brian Tighe one of the forerunners of the North American custom knife industry.
The blade is hand ground from Robert Eggerling's mosaic damascus. The carbon steel damascus shows tremendous skill and precision at the forge, combining linear damascus with a radialed mosaic inset. The blade is perfectly centered and has smooth, consistent action. It is easily opened with one hand using the paua shell-inlaid thumb stud.
Matching mosaic damascus bolsters meet seamlessly with paua shell scales. The scales are perfectly matched, from side to side. The natural shell has amazing fiery chatoyancy when moved in the light. The scales and bolsters are set on anodized titanium liners which surround a damasteel stainless damascus backbar.
This is a rare opportunity to find an early example of renowned knifemaker Brian Tighe's work. It will be a centerpiece of most any collection.
