Description: The models offered by Randall have been developed over a period of 80 years from personal experience, extensive research and the study of hundreds of designs submitted by individuals around the world requesting custom-made knives. Each model has been thoroughly field-tested and has proven to be properly shaped and designed for its particular use. Randall knives are 100% hand made and no two are exactly alike. The Tom Clinton Special was designed for Randall Knife dealer Tom Clinton and was produced between 1988 and 1989. These are extremely rare and highly desirable. This knife is in mint condition despite being over 30 years old.
The 7-1/4 inch dagger ground blade is forged 440B stainless steel with a satin finish. The dagger ground blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. Randall's mark is on the ricasso along with their symbol designating a stainless steel blade.
The handle is made from a large slab of stag that has been machined smooth on the sides and had the natural texturing left on the top and bottom of the handle for extra grip. It feels great in the hand and fills the palm nicely. A polished brass guard brings weight to the center of the knife and will prevent your hand from sliding over the blade. The handle is finished with red, white, and blue spacers that will help the natural stag adjust to humidity and temperature changes.
The original brown leather sheath that includes a field sharpening stone is included with the knife. The sheath is in exceptional condition for its age. During the time this knife was made, the original sheath maker Maurice Johnson was making sheaths for Randall Knives.
This knife is a true piece of knifemaking history that you won't want to miss!
