Description: Ricardo Vilar is one of the makers that has brought the Brazilian knife market to the forefront of American collectors' minds. Vilar was one of the primary organizers of the Brazilian cutlery seminar with North American Mastersmith Jerry Fisk, which was held in Ricardo's workshop in 2001. In 2005, he became the first South American journeyman smith in the American Bladesmith Society. His work is exceptional, with dramatic shapes and detailed damascus. His designs and attention to detail clearly set him apart as a leader. Recently, he moved to the US and is continuing to be on the forefront of custom knifemakers.
This Clip Point Bowie features a blade made from hand forged ladder pattern damascus. The swedge provides a detail-oriented tip. The blade is distal tapered for a perfect balance.
The handle is formed from stag. Fittings throughout are formed from matching hand forged damascus. The ferrule and pomel are both carved to match the natural texture of the stag.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched, hand tooled leather sheath.
This is an exquisite bowie with exceptional work throughout!
