Description: Frank Edwards began his journey into knifemaking in 2009 and started forging in 2011. He joined the American Bladesmith Society in 2017 and recently completed a folder class taught by Mastersmiths Bill Burke and Rick Dunkerley. Frank has spent some time working alongside Mastersmith Burke in his workshop since the class, which has taken his work to a completely new level!
The damascus blade was forged from 1080 and 15n20 carbon steels. The high contrast pattern twisted Ws pattern is captivating and will have excellent edge retention. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil both the blade and natural stag handle scales. The blade rotates on Teflon washers and has silky smooth action. It is perfectly centered and can be easily deployed using the right-handed, fileworked thumbstud. The thumbstud holds a faceted ruby set into a 24k bezel.
Ancient woolly mammoth ivory handle scales are dovetailed to matching damascus bolsters, ensuring a perfect fit. Heat colored and fileworked 15n20 carbon steel liners surround a heat colored and fileworked backbar. Screws throughout are also heat colored and fileworked.
Excellent work throughout. The knife is lightweight and feels exceptional in hand. Frrank Edwards is clearly an up-and-coming maker to watch!
