Description: Jim Davis, Jr. of Zephyrhills, Florida handcrafts one-of-a-kind gent, personal and executive knives. All of his work is done by hand and his specialty is presentation grade fixed blade knives with hidden tangs using bone and stag handles. Jim is a full time knife maker and sold his first knnife in 2000. He is a member of the Knifemaker's Guild. This knife has been in a single private collection and is in new condition. By all appearances, Jim could have made it yesterday.
The blade is flat ground from ATS-34 stainless steel. Rather than using a file, Jim flat ground his blades with files. It was heat treated to Hrc 60-61 for a high performance edge. It features an elegant, hand rubbed satin finish. The left side of the blade features Davis' maker's mark and the right side is number 0065 (the 65th knife that he made).
The handle is formed from ancient oosic bone and has two dyed and stabilzed box elder burl spacers. A central mosaic pin is a nice highlight.
The knife is accompanied by a custom pouch style leather sheath.
