Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kiku Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. He joined his father's knifemaking business at the age of 15 and learned grinding technique from his father. Kiku's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
Stout Spear is an evolving model -- with improved blade and handle. 9-3/4 inch long and narrow tanto style blade terminates in a spear tip. It was made from dramatic, high performing SG2 san mai damascus. The san mai (three layer) blade has nickel damascus sides surrounding a central ultra-high performing Takefu Super Gold 2 core. This is a knife that has the legendary edge holding that has made Kiku famous with easier care. Soft, supportive sides help support the super-hard center core.
The six inch handle is contoured black canvas Micarta. Finger notches and a lanyard hole at the end ensure a secure, comfortable grip.
Accompanied by a Kydex sheath with belt clip.
