Description: South African knifemaker, Jan Wahl, is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the South African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail. Over the last few years, he has been making folders and the results have been incredible. The action on this flipper is silky smooth. The blade is perfectly centered. In short, it is a spectacular knife!
The blade is made from high performing stainless damascus forged by Balbach in Germany. The high contrast pattern is immediately captivating.
The blade is easily opened with one hand using the ambidextrous flipper toggle. It uses cage bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play. The spine is nicely hand fileworked.
Like the blade, the handle is constructed for strength and durability. Marble carbon fiber handle scales are nicely domed to fill out the hand. The scales are set on anodized titanium liners. A hand fileworked carbon fiber backspacer keeps the knife rigid yet light. It is easy to keep this knife close at hand using the stainless damascus pocket clip. It is mounted for right handed, tip up carry.
Excellent work throughout!
