Description: Franck Souville is a knifemaker and blacksmith from Montgesoye, France. He produces forged fixed blades as well as slipjoints and friction folders both in modern and classic styles. This SuperBad model is a Tashi Bharucha design which in turn was based on Franck's Bad Guy slip joint folder. This massive slip joint folder is definitely SuperBad (and by that, we mean awesome)!!
The broad clip point blade is flat ground from CPM-154 stainless steel. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. An acid wash finish helps hide scratches from use and prevent light reflection.
The blade can be opened with two hands using the oversized nail nick. The action is smooth and the blade snaps firmly into place. It is well centered. There is no doubt this slip joint will be up to heavier duty tasks than most other slip joints.
Warthog tusk scales are dovetailed to stainless steel bolsters using pins. The fit is perfect resulting in no gap between the two materials. A leather lanyard and textured beads are included with the knife.
Excellent work throughout from a maker rarely seen in the US!
