I began making knives in the early 60s and went full time in 1985 after a thirty year career as a surgical instrument maker. My knifemaking brought me from England to the US in 1996. It's the best move I ever made. I no longer have to worry about being stopped by Customs with a suitcase full of steel, and my new shop is well-ventilated so my equipment doesn't rust overnight.

In order to achieve a higher level of aesthetic design, I took courses in jewlery making. My knife ornamentation includes carving, filework, and the use of gold, silver, and gemstones.

My goal is to make knives worthy of becoming family heirlooms. I don't use any laser cut or outside machined parts. I grind all the blades freehand without jigs. I also make all my own screws whether they're titanium, gold, or stainless steel.
