I made my first knife in 1977 out of a sawblade. In 1992, I became serious about knifemaking and became a fulltime maker in 1996 -- stopping my previous occupation as a school psychologist. By 1994, I had joined the Southern Africa Knifemakers Guild.

Each year, I do about four shows in the USA: Las Vegas, Badger Show (Wisconsin), Blade Show (Georgia) and the New York knife show. In 2005, Sporting Classic Magazine chose two of my knives for their knife of the year project. All 150 sets were sold out before April 2005 - the best project in the history of the magazine.

I make fixed blades and folders and like to work with mammoth ivory, warthog tusk and other exotic materials. I use either 12C27 or ATS34 stainless steels along with Damascus.
