Description: Bob Lay's designs are well thought through and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. This Bob Lay knife is the perfect size for everyday carry. This is a particularly rare Bob Lay Personal. Both the malachite spacer and copper fittings are extremely hard to find materials from Bob.
The blade is made from CPM154 stainless steel that has been heat treated to Rc 58 for optimal edge retention and durability. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob shows off clean grind lines that are very dramatic. Filework along the spine offers a secure thumb purchase. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. A small ricasso makes re-sharpening a breeze.
The handle is made from a nice section of stabilized and dyed spalted alder wood. The green dyed wood is nicely complemented by a malachite spacer. Copper fittings bring in warm tones and give the knife a perfect balance.
This knife is accompanied by a hand stitched brown leather sheath and a Cordura storage pouch. This knife will be a perfect companion for any adventure!
