Description: Bob Lay's designs are well thought through and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. This Bob Lay knife is the perfect size for using out in the field.
The blade is made from CPM154 stainless steel that has been heat treated to Rc 58 - 59 for optimal edge retention and durability. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob shows off clean grind lines that are very dramatic. Jimping along the spine offers a secure thumb purchase. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. A small ricasso makes re-sharpening a breeze.
The handle is made from mun ebony (diospyros mun), also known as moon ebony. It is a rare species from Southeast Asia and is one of the most stable ebonies available. A sheep horn spacer contrasts the dark figured wood nicely. The handle is completed with a stainless steel guard and buttcap.
This knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath and a Cordura storage pouch. This knife will be a perfect companion for any adventure!
